Sales Manager - Pet Food

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Sales Manager to join a leading pet food company based near Doncaster

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

  • Boost sales within your assigned region by assessing current performance and developing strategies to surpass targets.
  • Take full responsibility for regional sales metrics, providing regular reports and progress updates.
  • Address and escalate customer concerns to the Commercial Director as needed, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Build and maintain key customer relationships, monitor trading patterns, and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare and manage quotations in line with the agreed pricing strategy, renegotiating terms as necessary.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date customer database, including pricing structures and client history.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to strengthen key account relationships and drive sales.
  • Liaise with operations, transport, commercial, and quality teams to keep customers informed and ensure appropriate stock levels.
  • Oversee procurement activities for wet pet food, including sourcing fish and speciality products.
  • Coordinate with procurement on pricing, volumes, and new product development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Operations teams to develop pricing forecasts that support profit goals.
  • Support accurate production operations through close coordination with the Operations team.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Experience within relevant markets (e.g., pet food, aquafeed, biodiesel, or fertilisers), with pet food industry knowledge preferred.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel when required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and solution-focused individual, comfortable handling complex tasks independently.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a customer-oriented approach.
